Grant Enfinger Race Recap:

Grant Enfinger, driver of the No. 98 Champion Power Equipment Toyota Tundra, made his Charlotte (NC) Motor Speedway (CMS) debut in Friday night's NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) NC Education Lottery 200. Starting 16th, Enfinger overcame a loose Toyota Tundra, two pit road penalties, and a late-race caution to finish seventh behind race winner, Kyle Busch. The solid run was the ThorSport Racing drivers second top-10 in five starts this season.

Quote:

"We salvaged a top-10 tonight. I'm proud of everyone on this No. 98 Champion Power Equipment team. We definitely did not have a seventh-place truck when the green flag dropped, but Jeff Hensley and my team never gave up and made the best of it all night. Hensley made a great call at the end of the race to come in and get scuff tires. We have some work to do as a team before we go to another intermediate track, but I'm happy with how hard my team worked all weekend."

Notes:

  • The NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) had two practice sessions on Thursday evening in preparation for Friday night's NC Education Lottery 200 at CMS. Grant Enfinger was fifth and 17th, respectively, in both sessions.

  • In his CMS debut, Enfinger started 16th, ran as high as fourth, and finished seventh.

  • In five starts in 2017, the RIDE TV driver has led 18 laps en route to two top-10 (Atlanta & Charlotte), and three top-15 finishes.

  • In 19 career NCWTS starts, Enfinger has one pole, one win, and has led 68 laps en route to three top-five, and seven top-10 finishes.

  • Enfinger's ThorSport Racing teammates finished sixth (Crafton), eighth (Rhodes) and 16th (Coughlin).

  • Up Next: The Bar Harbor 200 at Dover (Del.) International Speedway on Friday, June 2 at 5:30pm ET on FS1
