News and Notes:

  • #NASCARPlayoffs Profile… The first round of the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series Playoffs concludes at Las Vegas Motor Speedway (LVMS), site of Friday night’s World of Westgate 200. Only one driver has punched his ticket, therefore there are five spots remaining in the Round of 6. Grant Enfinger is currently in the sixth and final spot with a two-point advantage over teammate Johnny Sauter, who is currently on the outside looking in.

  • Defending Race Winner… Enfinger can secure his spot in the Round of 6, which kicks off at Talladega Superspeedway in October, by repeating what he did last year - winning the Word of Westgate 200 at LVMS. The ThorSport Racing driver started third, and led 40 laps en route to victory lane.

  • Sin City Stats… Enfinger has six starts at LVMS since 2012. The ThorSport Racing driver has a track-best start of third (2018_2), and has led 47 laps en route to one win (2018_2), two top-five and four top-10 finishes at the 1.5-mile track.

  • Chassis Chatter... The No. 98 ThorSport Racing team will unload chassis No. 52 for Friday night’s 25th annual World of Westgate 200 at LVMS. This particular chassis has led a lap in each of the four races it’s started this season, leading a total of 103 laps, and most recently finished third at Michigan International Speedway (August).

  • Ford Fact… Ford powered F-150's have found victory lane 99 times since 1995 in the NGOTS, including five times at LVMS with Joe Ruttman (1997), Greg Biffle (1999), Travis Kvapil (2007), Tyler Reddick (2016), and Grant Enfinger (2018).

  • Take Me Back – Canada… Enfinger started 14th, finished eighth in Stage 1, fourth in Stage 2 and crossed the stripe 13th in the Gander Trucks 250 at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park.

  • Truck Series Stats… Enfinger has 78 career Gander Trucks starts to his credit. His success includes five poles and 564 laps led en route to two wins, 26 top-five and 49 top-10 finishes.

  • Catch Grant At Las Vegas Motor Speedway… Enfinger will participate in the Gander Trucks autograph session Friday, Sept. 13, from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. PT in the Neon Garage at LVMS.

Chatting with Grant Enfinger...

On Las Vegas Motor Speedway:

“Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) was a huge win for us last year, and the 98 team, well all of ThorSport Racing really, has been solid on our mile-and-a-half program this year. So, I definitely feel like this is a strong track for us, and I feel like we can come home with that checkered flag again this year.”

Is the fall race any different from the spring race earlier this year?

“It really all depends on the temperatures. We’ve had some races there where there’s been a lot of grip, but it really just depends on the temps as to how much grip is in the track. Vegas is always one of those fun, wide-open tracks. If your truck is right, you can be wide-open for a long time into a tire run. It’s a lot of fun there.”
