News and Notes:

  • The Down Low on Dover… Grant Enfinger will make his third NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series (Gander Trucks) start at Dover International Speedway (Dover) on Friday. In two previous starts at the “Monster Mile,” the ThorSport Racing driver has one top-five finish (3rd) in 2017.

  • This Week's No. 98 Champion Power Equipment/Curb Records Ford F-150... The No. 98 ThorSport Racing team will unload chassis No. 42 for Friday’s Gander Trucks JEGS 200 at Dover. Making four starts in 2018, including a runner-up finish at Eldora Speedway, this chassis has been completely rebuilt, and will make it’s 2019 debut on Friday.

  • Off-Weekend Fun… Although the Gander Trucks have had four weeks off since the series last stop at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Enfinger found himself no where else last weekend but racing. The Champion Power Equipment driver drove a UMP Modified at Lincoln Speedway, a quarter-mile dirt track in Illinois, on Friday, May 26 for long time friend, Kelly Kovski.

  • Honorary Pit Crew Member… The No. 98 ThorSport Racing team will host Yeoman 2nd Class Petty Officer Derrick McCullum of the United States Navy for Friday’s JEGS 200. McCullum, who is currently in his second tour, has been in active duty military for six years, and currently works at the Armed Forces Medical Examiner System, as support staff.

  • Ford Fact… Ford powered F-150's have found victory lane 98 times since 1995 in the Gander Trucks, including three times at Dover with Kurt Busch (2000), Mark Martin (2006), and Tyler Reddick (2015).

  • Take Me Back – Texas…Enfinger started on the pole, led eight laps and finished second in the Vankor 250 at Texas Motor Speedway on Friday, March 29. The top-five result was Enfinger’s third top-five finish of the 2019 season.

  • Truck Series Stats… Enfinger has 65 career Gander Trucks starts to his credit. His success includes four poles, and 285 laps led en route to two wins, 21 top-five and 39 top-10 finishes.

  • Catch Grant at Dover... Enfinger will join his ThorSport Racing teammates for the Gander Trucks autograph session Friday, May 3, from 11:00-11:45 a.m. ET at the Winston Cup Museum display in the Midway, and the Dover Display in the Midway at 12 p.m. ET.

Chatting with Grant Enfinger...

“Dover’s an awesome track, an incredibly fast one-mile track. You almost feel like your going down into a hole when you land in the banking, and your coming out of the hole off the corner. It’s super fast, super fun. One of the interesting facts about Dover is that it’s concrete. We put a lot of rubber down in a short amount of time, but we also pick it back up under caution and at slow speeds, which will change the track conditions some. You can move around some during the race – you can work the outside some – but normally you’ll be on the bottom. I’m looking forward to getting back to Dover, and to racing this weekend – it’s been too long of a four-week stretch, since we last raced at Texas.”
