NASCAR Modifies Pit-Stop Procedure For Stand-Alone Truck Race

By: Staff Report NASCAR revealed Tuesday it has modified the pit-stop procedure for the stand-alone race in the Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series at World Wide Technology Raceway this season on Aug. 30. Meanwhile, for the NASCAR Xfinity Series’ stand-alone event at Road America on Aug. 8, a modified version of the pit-road procedures announced in January will be used. Here’s how the Gander Trucks procedure works: There will be three stages in the race with Stage 1 ending at Lap 55, Stage 2 ending at Lap 110 and the final stage scheduled to end on Lap 160. Teams may choose to pit, or not, during the stage breaks, and the field is frozen during that time. Those who do pit will have

Chatting with Grant Enfinger... You have a pair of wins this year, but only one top-10 in the other six races. What is it going to take to stand-out as the championship favorite? “I don’t think we necessarily have to change the world, but I think we need to combine some of the stuff we’ve done this year, that’s been successful, to some of the stuff we did last year, that was very consistent. I think we just need to get back to our style of racing. There have been things that have happened over the last month that have been un-characteristic, as far as how the races have played out, but there have been some mistakes made on our end as well. At this point, I’m not worried about it, but there a

Top-10 Finish For Grant Enfinger at Texas Motor Speedway

“We just missed it a little tonight, but our ThorSport Racing crew made it better on every stop and we salvaged an eighth-place finish. Now we have some good information for when we run this truck again. I can’t wait for the double header at Kansas Speedway next week.” Texas Race Information: Started: 2nd Stage 1: 10th Stage 2: 10th Finished: 8th Laps: 167/167 Laps Led: 0 Status: Running Driver Points: 7th Owner Points: 8th 2020 Stats: Starts: 8 Poles: 0 Wins: 2 Laps Led: 48 Top-5 Finishes: 2 Top-10 Finishes: 3 Grant Enfinger, No. 98 Records Ford F-150 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series Texas Motor Speedway – Vankor 350 Race No. 8 of 23

Chatting with Grant Enfinger... How do you prepare for such a hot race, like Saturday’s race at Texas Motor Speedway? “Man, that’s the toughest part about what we do. Luckily it’s a night race, so it wont be quite as bad. I do a lot of running, heat condition any way that I can, hydrate all I can and hope for the best.” Last year you won the regular season points title, but did not win a race during the regular season. Has there been an emphasis this year on winning and getting those Playoff Points? Last year you had just four Playoff Points, this year you already have 11. “Definitely. (Jeff) Hensley has changed how he’s called the race, as far as trying to set us up better for the end of th

“Man, just disappointed with how today went in Kentucky. We had a really fast Champion Power Equipment F-150 but we just weren’t able to show it. It seems like track position was everything. We we’re trying to set ourselves up for the end of the race and then the rain came – put a damper on it. It was a single groove track, so track position was key, which is why we were trying to set ourselves up for the end. I hate finishing 12th with a really good F-150. I feel like if we ever got a clean race track, we could have showed the speed we had. I just want to say thank you for all the support we have, and thank you to everyone at ThorSport Racing for bringing us a fast truck. We’ll get em’ in T

Chatting with Grant Enfinger... How tough has it been with the one-day shows - no practice, no qualifying and your first lap in the truck is on the pace laps before the green flag? “It’s definitely different. As a driver you have a lot different mind set going into Turn 1, when you haven’t felt your truck out at all. So it definitely changes how we approach things and the package Jeff Hensley brings to the race track. But the fact that we do have those couple wins under our belt now gives us a big advantage with that, in my opinion. We can maybe be a little bit more aggressive, I can be on the track for sure. We don’t have quite as much to lose, but we still have a lot to gain. So, it’s just
