NASCAR Statement: All Race Events Through May 3 Postponed

NASCAR has postponed all race events through May 3rd. At this time, the first race for the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series would be Charlotte Motor Speedway on Friday, May 15. That means the events at Homestead-Miami Speedway (3/20), Texas Motor Speedway (3/27), Richmond Raceway (4/18) and Dover International Speedway (5/1) have been postponed. NASCAR intends to hold all 23 events this season and plans to release a modified schedule in the coming days.

“The health and safety of our fans, industry and the communities in which we race is our most important priority, so in accordance with recent CDC guidance, NASCAR is currently postponing all race events through May 3rd, with plans to return racing in Martinsville. We appreciate the patience of our fans and we look forward to returning to the race track. We intend to hold all 36 races this season, with future rescheduling soon to be determined as we continue to monitor this situation closely with public health officials and medical experts. What is important now transcends the world of sports and our focus is on everyone’s safety and well-being as we navigate this challenging time together.” - By Official NASCAR Release NASCAR.com March 16, 2020 at 6:37 PM
